Another Day at the Office

by June 22nd, 2016

Yesterday I was up in one of my favorite places doing a photoshoot. It’s nice having the Rubicon just 90 minutes away.IMG_2270

Ends of the Earth

by June 19th, 2016

En route to Novolazarevskaya Station, a Russian research base in Eastern Antarctica: 2013 Expeditions 7. The weather had warmed considerably since we had departed for the South Pole two weeks earlier. The next day we caught the last flight off the continent; the warm weather renders the ice runway unusable.

Travel Tuesday – Cambodia Fishing Village

by June 7th, 2016

This morning I’m sorting through images from a trek through Cambodia for an upcoming issue of Overland Journal. This photo of a young man casting his net was taken in Kompong Phluk, one of the many floating fishing villages on Tonle Sap Lake.

It’s the Weekend…Plan Something Fun

by April 16th, 2016

It’s the weekend…plan something fun! I’m thinking long desert two-tracks, forests of cardon cacti, tacos de pescado, and cerveza fria.

Travel Tuesday

by April 12th, 2016

While driving up from Central America I stopped at a long-time bucket list locale, Tequila, Mexico, and spent four days wandering through agave fields with hemadors and visiting the regions many distilleries. This image was in the cellar of Tres Mujeres, one of the few remaining distilleries that roasts agave in an authentic brick oven. The sweet aroma of the elixir permeates fills the surrounding valley; wonderful!Tequila Jalisco Mexico 012

Bestop Truck Top

by April 6th, 2016

I mounted one of Bestop’s Trucktops to my Tacoma last year. Love the versatility of being able to fold it down to load my motorcycle…or take a load to the dump. I wrote this piece for Expedition Portal (the digital side of Overland Journal). http://expeditionportal.com/one-hour-ragtop/

Toyota FJ45LV wagon Restoration

by March 3rd, 2016

Throwback Thursday: This Toyota FJ45LV wagon is the creation of David Berry, who found it rusting away behind a barn near Riverton, Wyoming. The multi-year restoration was a labor of love, and the results are exceptional. The FJ45LV was produced between 1963 and 1967, and only 5,000 were made. David updated this one with disc brakes, a more powerful 4.2-liter F2 mill, and H55 5-speed gearbox.
